I believe that coffee is Makruh now makruh is not haram. This is my opinion and I base this opinion on a hadith. Now what does coffee do? When you drink coffee, it makes you think fast. When you think fast, you don’t think through the things. Once a companion came to the Prophet’s pbuh and the prophet pbuh told him the meaning of the Hadith is you have two qualities.

Allah loves them, and these two qualities are Al-Hilm. Al-Hilm is basically being less reactive to useless things, and Al-Anat is doing things in a clean and deliberate manner.
